1969 –

The only Japanese glass artist to run an atelier in Murano, Venice. Graduates from Tsuji Culinary Institute and leaves Japan for Paris to aspire to be a cook. Moves to Venice in 1992. While working at the long established bar-restaurant “Harry’s Bar”, starts glass making in 1995. In the following year, Tsuchida assumes the art director at Schiavon Glass Company. Exhibition of Bamboo collection, which is a series of Venetian glass sculptures merge with Japanese aesthetic, brings him to be a high-profile glass artist. In 2003, becomes the Chief Director of the Venetian Glass Laboratory. Receives Honorary Technical Award in Dusseldorf in 2004 and Cultural Promotion Contributor Award from the city of Grosseto, Tuscany in 2008. He is invited to create the glass sculpture for Japan Pavilion at Venice Architecture Biennale in 2015. His oeuvre covers wide variety but strictly based on his sagacious theme. The series such as Windows, Peacock, The Crossroad of Fate, Innocent, Neo Classico keep fascinating the audience with his sensitive expressions.
